People Magazine in December 1998. Prior to SouthPaws, Dr. Dahlgaard completed a one-year rotating internship at a
prestigious hospital for animals and practiced emergency medicine for several years at a 24-hour veterinary referral center.
Dr. Dahlgaard majored in zoology as an undergrad and earned her DVM degree from the University of Florida School of Veterinary Medicine.

Dan Christian, DVM

Dan Christian is a member of the DogAge Scientific Review Board, director of professional communications at Nestlé Purina PetCare,
and serves as executive director of the Purina Pet Institute, whose mission is to advance the quality of life for dogs, cats, and
their owners through scientific discovery. His nutrition expertise includes developing animal nutrition training tools for retail
use and presenting nutritional studies on behalf of the Pet Food Institute to veterinarians in Mexico. Dr. Christian is a member
of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the Southern California Veterinary
Medical Association. He has also appeared as a guest on television and radio pet health programs nationwide, and has authored
numerous articles for pet health magazines. Dr. Christian received both his BS and DVM degrees from Oklahoma State University.
